How Birkenstock fits
Birkenstock makes most styles in two widths. It says choose regular for medium to wide feet and narrow for narrow to medium feet, and that narrow fits most women's feet.

Birkenstock says regular matches a women's C to D width or a men's D to EE. Narrow matches a women's A to B or a men's B to C.

When you try them on, Birkenstock says your toes should not touch the edge of the footbed. Aim for about a quarter inch of space around your foot.

- Birkenstock lists all its footwear in EU sizes. Each EU size covers a whole and a half US size.
- Birkenstock states the rule: US women's size plus 31 is the EU size, and US men's size plus 33 is the EU size.
- The foot lengths and widths are in millimetres, from Birkenstock's EU size chart.
- Blank cells: Birkenstock's chart gives no US women's size above EU 42 and no US men's size below EU 40.
