Luxury resale in Toronto: what 4,699 live pieces ask

The median piece on a Toronto luxury resale shelf asked $400 in Canadian dollars on 10 September 2026. The shelf ran from $10 to $25,000, and 4,699 pieces were live on it that day.

Those numbers are counted, not estimated. within reads each boutique's own register and publishes the reading as the Toronto Resale Price Index, which is where every figure below comes from.

What the whole shelf asks

Of the 4,699 pieces, 1,418 carried a condition the shop had stated as resale, which is 30 percent of everything on offer. Those graded pieces asked a median of $400, the same as the shelf overall.

One piece in the whole city was stated as new. The other 3,280 carried no condition at all, which means ungraded rather than new, and that is the single most useful thing to know before walking into a consignment counter here.

An ungraded piece has not been checked and rejected. It has simply not been graded, so the inspection is yours to do.

What each corner of the market costs

The shelf is not one market. Sneakers held 1,528 pairs at $25 to $6,000, median $350, with 611 of those graded pre owned at a $300 median.

Designer tops held 1,159 pieces at $65 to $8,000, median $400. Designer bags held 105 pieces at $100 to $7,500, median $1,000, and the graded resale half of that asked the same $1,000.

By house, Chrome Hearts held 671 pieces at $100 to $25,000, median $1,600, with a $1,500 median on the 324 graded pieces. Supreme held 262 at $30 to $2,000, median $300, with $200 on the 52 graded ones.

The gap between graded and ungraded is smaller than people expect

Read the two medians against each other and the pattern holds across the shelf. Chrome Hearts graded resale asks $1,500 against a $1,600 shelf median, and Supreme graded resale asks $200 against $300.

Sneakers show the widest gap, $300 against $350, and designer bags show none at all. So the discount for buying a stated pre owned piece in Toronto is real on sneakers and close to nothing on bags.

That is the opposite of the usual advice, and it comes from counting rather than from a rule of thumb.

A shelf median is a price some piece in this city is asking today. An average is arithmetic on other people's arithmetic.

What this index does not hold

within does not hold sold prices, does not estimate them, and never prints one. Nothing here is a record of what anything sold for, in Toronto or anywhere. Auction results, completed listings and other marketplaces are not read.

A segment needs 10 live pieces before it states a median at all, and three on each side before a graded and an ungraded median are printed against each other. That is why some houses on within carry a price page and others do not.
