Why is Amiri so expensive?
Three things set the price. Amiri states the first two itself, and the third is on its own timeline.
Most of the clothes are made in Italy. "Made In Italy" is printed on 35 of the 60 denim pages of amiri.com, read 20 September 2026, and on its shirt and tee pages. One skate tee says made in Turkey.
The about page says its leathers are cut and built in Italian workshops by Italian artisans.
The fabric is the second cost. An MX1 jean is 92 per cent cotton with 8 per cent stretch fibres, and a carpenter jean is 100 per cent cotton. The top of the denim range is an all over crystal MX1 at USD 4,490.
59 of the 60 denim pages carry the same line: the garment "has undergone a special process which results in intentional variations of shading and color". That line is the wash and the distressing, and no two pairs come out the same.
The third is the addresses. Amiri's own timeline lists a Rodeo Drive flagship in 2020, then Greene Street in SoHo and the Wynn in Las Vegas in 2021.
Milan is listed for 2026 as its first permanent store in Europe. Those streets are paid for by the same price tags.
Mike Amiri started the label in his hometown of Los Angeles in 2014, per the same page. Since 2019 the Italian fashion group OTB, chaired by Renzo Rosso, has held a minority stake. OTB's own brands page lists Amiri among the brands it holds a stake in.
What the Toronto shelf asks
Utopia holds all 53 pieces. 34 are pants, and 29 of those are jeans at CAD 450 to 1,200, median 800; five of the jeans are MX1s.
The dearest piece is a leather Chemist jean at CAD 1,200. Nine T-shirts ask CAD 200 to 700, median 400, and six pairs of sneakers ask 500 to 550.
Pre owned pieces are 15 of the 53, at a CAD 450 median against 675 for the new ones. The Amiri price guide carries the full table by category.
Why are Amiri jeans so expensive?
Because the list price starts at USD 750 and the Italian making is the same on every pair. On amiri.com on 20 September 2026, 60 denim styles ran USD 750 to 4,490 at a median of 1,090. A plain MX1 is 1,090 and a Stack jean is 750.
Amiri asks USD 1,090 for a plain MX1; the Toronto shelf's jeans median is CAD 800.
The Toronto median is below the US list price before the exchange rate and before duty. Our guide to duty on clothes into Canada works an order through if you are tempted to import instead.
Is Amiri a luxury brand?
By price and by address, yes. Its jeans list from USD 750, its flagship is on Rodeo Drive and its New York store is on Greene Street. An Italian fashion group has held a stake since 2019.
Is Amiri worth it?
For the jeans, yes, if you buy below list. A new pair is USD 1,090 at the brand; the Toronto jeans median is CAD 800, with 15 pre owned pieces on the shelf to choose from.
For a T-shirt, less so. Amiri's 42 men's tees list at USD 330 to 790, median 490, and an MA Tee is 350 for 100 per cent cotton made in Italy. The nine Amiri T-shirts in Toronto ask a CAD 400 median, and that is where the money buys the name.
