What a BB Simon belt is

B.B. is short for Belts By Simon, and the founder is Simon Tavassoli, Lei Takanashi wrote in Complex on 1 July 2024. The article says he debuted the Swarovski crystal belt in the early 2000s, and that New York rappers like Max B and Jim Jones made it famous.

Each belt is handcrafted in the US with Italian leather and Austrian crystals, it says, with buckles from Taiwan. The brand's own about page says "European buckles" and dates the label to 1987, where Complex says 1986. Its FAQ puts the workshop in Santa Ana, California, and every order is custom made, which matters for the returns below.

The money moved fast. Complex has gross sales near USD 15 million by 2009 and down to USD 2.5 million in 2011. Supreme's Spring/Summer 2020 run of 500 belts has since resold for over USD 1,000 on StockX, the same article says.

What the belts cost

I pulled every belt from the brand's own store on 8 November 2026 and sorted the prices. All figures are in US dollars.

The site ran a Halloween Sale banner from 26 October to 9 November. Every one of those 1,674 prices still matched the regular price in the store's own data, so I would not wait on a sale you cannot see.

A Classic Silver Static belt at USD 175 gives you crystals on leather for less than half the price of The Emblem at USD 465. I would spend more only when you want a named design.

How BB Simon belts are sized

Each product page says the same thing: "All BB Simon belts run ONE size small from the standard US pants size." It tells you to go one size up, so if you wear a 34 in jeans, order a 36.

Order one size above your jeans. The brand says so on every belt.

Get it right the first time, because changing it costs money. The return policy says an exchange for another size "is subject to a restocking fee", and that "Refunds will not be given".

Where to buy a BB Simon belt

The sure route is the brand's own site, bbsimononline.com. It ships worldwide, though its FAQ warns that shipping abroad is expensive. All sales are final, and the FAQ lists no authorized sellers.
