The store, and the bag

Khaite's New York store is at 165 Mercer Street in SoHo, open Monday to Saturday 11am to 7pm and Sunday noon to 6pm. Catherine Holstein founded the label in 2016 and it is based in New York.

The Lotus tote is the bag people search for. The Medium in cedar suede is $3,600, the Small runs $2,480 to $2,980 and the Mini runs $2,200 to $2,500. The pieces state "Made in Italy" on their own product pages.

Khaite also lists stores on Madison Avenue, on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, at Highland Park Village in Dallas, and in Korea.

Where it gets cheap

New York's independent Khaite is one piece. Michael's, the consignment shop for women at 1125 Madison Avenue, held a single Khaite at $690 on 20 September 2026.

Toronto is the better resale city for this label. VSP Consignment held 7 from C$145 and Rewind Couture held 5 at a C$395 median. Fashionably Yours had one at C$75.

Maxfield in Los Angeles held 5 at a $1,380 median and Lawrence Covell in Denver held 5 at $1,280. Resale Concierge in Miami had one at $458.

Before you buy

Compare against $3,600 before paying resale on a Lotus. A used Medium Lotus above $2,500 is close enough to new that the warranty matters.

Ask for the interior photographs on the suede versions. Suede marks, and the cedar colourway shows it.
