Every croissant bag we could see, and what it cost

Lemaire publishes its own price and it is the one to measure against. The Medium Croissant in soft grained leather is EUR 1,190, made in Spain, 47cm long and 23cm high with a 96cm strap. The small coated cotton version is EUR 650.

The Filt versions are the cheap ones. Mohawk General Store in Los Angeles had the Fortune Croissant Filt in light beige at $610 and a second Filt at $670. SVRN in Chicago had the same $670 bag.

Leather starts around a thousand. Mohawk had the Medium Croissant in black at $990. Frances May in Portland had the Mini Fortune Croissant in dark khaki at $1,090.

The large one is the ceiling. Frances May and Mohawk both listed the Large Croissant in black at $1,980, the same price in two cities on the same day.

The odd ones

Kick Pleat in Austin had a Studs Dots Mini Fortune Croissant in dark chocolate at $1,660. That is $570 more than the plain mini at Frances May.

Outside the US the prices are not comparable, but they are worth knowing. Machine-A in London had the Fortune Croissant at GBP 1,060. LESS 17 in Calgary had the Small Croissant in nappa at C$1,585 and two Mediums at C$1,905.

One resale listing beat all of them. Genuine Design in Calgary had a black grained leather Croissant Coin Bag at C$400.

Eight shops, 14 bags, and a $1,370 gap between the cheapest and the dearest.

Where to buy Lemaire in New York

Christophe Lemaire founded the label in 1991. The house has flagships in Paris, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing, and New York is not among them.

So the city has two routes and no Lemaire store. La Garconne at 465 Greenwich Street in Tribeca held 41 pieces on 20 September 2026, $290 to $1,990, median $907, and opens Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 7pm.

Tokio 7 at 83 E 7th Street held four on consignment, $240 to $380, median $305. Neither held a croissant bag that day.

For the bag itself you are ordering from Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland or Austin. Mohawk General Store had four of the 14, more than any other shop.

Before you buy

Ask which croissant it is. Filt is a wool felt, the Fortune is the shoulder version, and the Coin is a small pouch. Those three sit $610, $1,060 and C$400 apart and photograph alike.

Ask for the strap drop in centimetres. The Small, Medium and Large change the drop as well as the volume, and a Medium worn on the shoulder sits differently on different heights.
