Sneaker stores New York by neighbourhood

1. Extra Butter

125 Orchard Street, New York, NY 10002, Lower East Side. Monday to Saturday 11am to 7pm, Sunday 12pm to 6pm. The same page lists a second shop at 22-03 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City on the same hours (source: extrabutterny.com, read 11 September 2026).

Start with the New York directory for the broader city search, then the Lower East Side page for the eight shops with a storefront on the same streets. Ask about the pair you want before you go, because the address answers where, not whether your size is in.

2. West NYC

147 West 72nd Street, New York, NY 10023, Upper West Side. Monday to Saturday 10am to 6:45pm, Sunday 11am to 5:45pm, phone (212) 787-8595 (source: westnyc.com, read 11 September 2026).

Ask about the size and release you want before arranging the trip. West NYC's policy page says orders placed on products uploaded before a release date are cancelled, so a pair on the site is not a pair on hold.

3. Snipes

1852 3rd Avenue, New York, NY 10029, East Harlem, store 1055, phone (332) 258-7447. Snipes lists six Manhattan stores, four of them in Harlem and Washington Heights (source: stores.snipesusa.com, read 11 September 2026). The location page prints no hours, so call before you travel.

Save the location page for the exact branch. Use that address for any follow up stock question.

Best sneaker stores NYC for releases and resale

Choose the pair before choosing the route. Write down the model, release and size you want, then ask each shop about that exact combination. A wall of sneakers does not answer a stock question about your size.

For a new release, request the shop's own instructions. Extra Butter's policy page says limited releases are final sale and that release draw items carry their own terms in the draw agreement. West NYC calls special release items final sale and cancels orders placed before the release date (both read 11 September 2026).

For a resale pair, request photos of both shoes before comparing prices. Include the soles, heels, inner lining and size labels. Ask which parts of the original packaging come with the pair.

Keep the questions specific. A missing box and a worn sole describe different things. Record repairs separately from wear, and ask the shop to explain any condition word that leaves you uncertain.

The New York directory listed 117 shops by neighbourhood on 11 September 2026, each with its street and its own page. The three sneaker addresses above were read from the shops' own sites the same day; the other entries still need a call before you quote an opening hour.

The Toronto resale index gives no New York stock count. Ask each candidate shop directly about the item you want. A directory entry cannot confirm the size available that day.

Sneaker stores in SoHo and the Lower East Side

None of the three shops above is in SoHo. Extra Butter is on Orchard Street on the Lower East Side, West NYC is on 72nd Street uptown, and Snipes is on 3rd Avenue in East Harlem, read from each shop's own address page on 11 September 2026.

Save the shop's return policy alongside the pair you are considering. Extra Butter allows cancellations and returns up to 14 days from the purchase date on unworn pairs with tags and packaging, with limited releases, socks and underwear excluded. West NYC takes returns shipped back within 10 days of delivery on full price items only, with sale, special release and international orders final, and its in store policy is different, by phone (both read 11 September 2026).
