That is the whole difference in one line. StockX's own help page says import duties and sales tax are worked out from your address, and that you, the buyer, are responsible for them.
A pair from a shop in Canada crosses no border. You pay the shelf price, the shop's delivery or nothing at the counter, and the tax your province charges.
Quick facts

- StockX 14 day return: for US customers only, paid as StockX Credit in USD.
- Jordans at three Canadian boutiques: 761, CAD 50 to 3,000, median CAD 300, read 5 November 2026.

StockX and a boutique, side by side
| StockX | A Canadian boutique | |
|---|---|---|
| Price you see | Offer or Buy Now, plus a Processing Fee | The shelf price |
| Shipping | Varies by price, size, type and address | CAD 10 to 20, free over CAD 300 at one shop |
| Duty into Canada | Yours to pay | None, it never leaves Canada |
| Check | StockX inspects the pair | The shop sells its own stock |
| Returns | 14 days for US customers only | Final sale |
StockX's shipping page lists five things that set the fee: the item's price, its size, its type, carrier rates and your address. You see the total before you pay, but it is never a fixed number.
The verification is real work. StockX says a pair is inspected for its condition, its box and its accessories, and that a receipt plays no part.
What the boutique Jordans cost
Most of the shelf sits at the Yorkville boutique, with 606 pairs. A new Jordan 4 Retro Military Blue from 2024 in US 8 is CAD 350. The Jordan 1 Retro High OG Chicago Lost and Found costs CAD 400, new, in four sizes.

The 2026 Jordan 11 Retro Low University Blue is CAD 300 in US 8 and 8.5. That is the pair I'd buy here before checking StockX, because a CAD price has no duty or conversion hiding in it.
Pre owned is cheaper again. A Jordan 4 White Cement from 2016, size 9 and without its box, is CAD 250. A Jordan 1 Shadow from 2018 in 9.5 is CAD 200.
A Canadian price with no duty in it beats a lower number with fees still to come.
parlor23, on Willison Square, holds 154 Jordans, older pairs among them. Its Jordan 4 Levi's Blank Tag from 2018, size 11, is CAD 850, and it ships in Canada from CAD 10.
When StockX still makes sense
If your size is not on any Canadian shelf, StockX's inspected pair is a fair route. Budget for the fee, the shipping and the duty at checkout, and remember the 14 day return does not reach Canada.
At a boutique, every sale is final. Check the Jordan size chart first, and the list of graded pre owned Jordans for condition notes in each title.

Common questions
Does StockX charge duty to Canada?
StockX says import duties and sales tax are calculated from your shipping address, and that the buyer is responsible for them. A Jordan bought from a shop inside Canada carries no import duty.
Is StockX cheaper than a boutique for Jordans in Canada?
Only after the fees. StockX adds a Processing Fee, shipping that changes by order, and any duty, while the boutique price is the price. On 5 November 2026 half of the 761 boutique Jordans cost CAD 300 or less.
Can you return Jordans bought on StockX in Canada?
StockX's 14 day return policy covers US customers only, and pays StockX Credit in USD. Every buyer has the Buyer Promise for 14 days if the pair arrives materially different from its description. Read our note on whether StockX is legit for the rest.
