Lyst is a shopping site that holds no stock of its own. It links to more than 27,000 brands and stores. On one of its two checkouts, Lyst itself is the seller of record.

What Lyst does

Its own terms, effective 3 October 2024, call it "an online intermediary which partners with some of the world's best known brands". The next line is the one that matters.

"Lyst does not hold any inventory, and items are shipped directly to you by the Lyst Partners."

So a Lyst page is a listing copied from a retailer's feed. The size grid, the price and the stock all belong to that retailer, and all three can be stale.

Who you are actually buying from

Three answers, and the terms set them out separately. Buy on a partner's own website and your contract is with that retailer.

Use Lyst Checkout with Klarna and your contract is still with the Lyst Partner. Switch to Lyst Checkout with Stripe and, in its own words, "Lyst is the merchant of record".

That last one is worth knowing before a dispute. The partner still packs and posts the parcel, but the seller on the receipt is Lyst.

What happens when something goes wrong

Shipping is not Lyst's. Its help centre, updated 13 September 2026, says "Lyst does not handle shipping directly".

Returns are not Lyst's either. Updated 19 September 2026: "All returns are handled by the retailer from whom you purchased the item."

Refunds split along the checkout line. For a Lyst Checkout order, Lyst manages the refund once the retailer confirms the return. For everything else, the retailer refunds you.

Lyst can tell you who sells it. It cannot tell you whether the shop has your size today.

What Lyst does not publish

No product count. The 27,000 figure covers brands and stores together, not items, and any page quoting millions of products is not quoting Lyst.

No owner. The about page names no parent company, and the terms name only the operating company, LYST LTD, number 07132083.

On authenticity, its help centre, updated 11 September 2026, says every retailer is vetted before joining and counterfeits are prohibited. That is a vetting claim about shops, not a check on individual items.

Before you buy

Click through to the retailer and re read the price, the size and the stock there. The aggregated version is a copy and copies go stale.

Then find out which country the retailer ships from. That decides your duty and your return cost more than the price does.
