Outfit check: do I look good?

Send a photo of what you have on. The outfit check reads the clothes and tells you what works, the one change that would help, and three pieces on within that make that change.

How the outfit check works

You send one photo. The outfit check looks at the clothes in it: the colours, how the lengths and shapes sit together, the fit, the shoes and the small details. It tells you three things that work and the one change that would help most. Then it finds three pieces from boutiques on within that make that change.

The read is about the clothes only. It never comments on your body, face, skin, hair or age, or on anything else about who you are.

Your photo is made smaller on your phone or computer, sent once to make the answer, and then dropped. We do not save it, share it or use it for anything else. For the best read, take it in daylight with the whole outfit in the frame, head to toe. You can check ten outfits an hour.

Common questions

Does this outfit look good?

Send a photo above and you get an honest answer in a few seconds: three things that work and the one change that would help most. If you want to check it yourself first, look at the colours. Two or three colours that go together, with one of them used twice (in the shoes and a bag, say), nearly always looks put together.

How do I know if my outfit works?

Check four things in a mirror or a photo: the colours go together, the lengths make sense (where the jacket ends against the trousers or the skirt), each piece fits at the shoulders and at the hem, and the shoes are as dressed up as the rest. If one of the four is off, that is the change to make.

What should I wear to a wedding, a gala or a concert?

Pick the occasion above and the outfit check reads your outfit for it. The within journal also has longer notes on what to wear to a winter wedding, a fall wedding as a male guest, a gala, a concert and Thanksgiving dinner.

Can it rate my outfit out of 10?

No. A number does not tell you what to change. You get a plain answer instead: what works, the one change that would help, and three pieces that make it.
