Balenciaga Triple S: price new and pre owned, and sizing

The same day, Utopia in Yorkville held six pre owned pairs from CAD 300 to 600 (USD 213 to 425). It also had a new Clear Sole in deep purple at CAD 800 (USD 567), which is CAD 750 under Balenciaga's own price.

All seven are on the Balenciaga sneakers shelf. Balenciaga itself says the shoe runs large, so read the sizing section before you pick a number.

What each pair costs

US dollar figures are the prices on the shop's US page. There is one pair of each.

The pair I would look at first is the grey from 2018, at CAD 450. It is the plainest colour on the shelf, and it costs 29% of a new Clear Sole in Canada.

At CAD 300 the teal Clear Sole is the cheapest pair, and it has no box. The grey, yellow and black is CAD 400 in the same size.

The grey and red is CAD 500 and the triple black is CAD 600. I would pay the CAD 100 extra for black only if you already know you will wear it weekly.

The Gucci and Balenciaga Hacker Project pair is CAD 450. Its title says size 10 and its size button says US 11, so ask the shop which is right. Every sale at Utopia is final.

The Triple S and the Triple S.2

Balenciaga's own site now sells two versions. The Triple S Clear Sole is USD 1,190 in the US and CAD 1,550 in Canada. Its newer Triple S.2 is USD 1,090 and CAD 1,450, so the update costs CAD 100 less.

Jake Silbert wrote in Highsnobiety in December 2025 that the first Triple S "shook the world back in 2017". The article says an anonymous source told Highsnobiety that Demna was not involved in the new one. It was previewed at the Madison Avenue store during a Spring 2026 trunk show.

For the 2017 shape, the pre owned shelf is the cheap way in. The newer shape I would buy from Balenciaga, because none of the seven pairs on this shelf is a Triple S.2.

Balenciaga tells you to size down. Believe it, because the sale is final.

How the Triple S fits

Balenciaga prints the same line on its Triple S pages: "This shoe runs large, we recommend sizing down." Our note on Balenciaga sizing says to step down one size on the Triple S and 3XL, and the Balenciaga size chart has the conversions.

The shelf above is sized as the boutique listed each pair, so an EU 43 is shown as US 10 on the page. Saks's listing of the shoe says the size is embroidered at the edge of the toe, so ask for a photo of it on a pre owned pair.
