The role, in LVMH's own words

The July 2025 letter to shareholders is the clearest statement. "Christian Dior appointed Jonathan Anderson as the new Creative Director of Haute Couture, Men's and Women's collections of clothing and accessories."

That settles a question a lot of coverage got wrong. It is not a menswear job. All three collections sit under him.

His own label puts it the same way. jwanderson.com says he was appointed Creative Director of "Christian Dior women's, men's and haute couture" in 2025.

The dates that are on the record

LVMH's press release of 30 June 2025 covers his debut: the Dior Men's Summer 2026 show, held in June 2025 at the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris.

A second LVMH release, dated 29 January 2026, covers his first Dior haute couture collection, Spring Summer 2026.

For the season after, the Paris official calendar has Christian Dior showing on Tuesday 3 March 2026.

What is not on the record

The exact day he was appointed. LVMH's English sitemap carries 1,431 pages and none of them is an appointment release for him.

Who he replaced. No press release we fetched names a predecessor, and inferring one from other coverage is not a source.

The day he finished at Loewe. His own label says 2013 to 2025 and stops there.

Three collections, one designer, and no primary source giving the day he got the job.

Loewe, before and after

Anderson was Loewe's creative director from 2013 until 2025, per jwanderson.com. He founded JW Anderson in 2008 and still runs it.

Loewe announced Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez as its new creative directors. Their own statement calls Anderson's tenure "exceptional creative direction".

That announcement page carries no date, so treat the timing as unfixed.

What 27 Dior pieces ask in Toronto

Counted 20 September 2026 on within's Toronto shelves: 27 Dior pieces, CAD 80 to CAD 2,500, median CAD 600.

Eighteen of them are pre owned. The Dior shelf prints the size and the condition line on each one.

None of that stock is from his Dior. A design director's first pieces take a season to reach a resale shelf, which is why the shelf still reads like the years before him.

If you are buying for the new era, check the season code on the label rather than the year you saw the show. Runway pieces and the commercial cut of the same collection are not the same garment.
