Nike return policy in Canada: 30 days, and the boutique rule

Buying from nike.com/ca or the Nike App is the forgiving choice when you need to test your sizing. Giving up that 30 day return window makes sense only when an independent boutique holds a past release, a markdown or a pre owned pair.

Nike itself dates to 25 January 1964, when Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman founded Blue Ribbon Sports, and the Nike name arrived in 1971. Its return rules below come from Nike Canada's own help pages.

What Nike Canada takes back within 30 days

Nike Canada help pages give you 30 days from delivery to return unworn and unwashed orders from nike.com/ca or the Nike App. All returns require original packaging, complete accessories and intact tags, and a defective pair follows the warranty rule below. Nike Members get a prepaid FedEx drop off label, while guests select their own carrier and pay return delivery costs.

Outbound shipping fees are not refundable unless you receive an incorrect item. Standard shipping costs $10 under $100 for Members, $15 under $150 for guests, and express costs $25 for Members or $30 for guests. Nike Canada does not offer international delivery from its Canadian website.

Exchanging a pair means returning the original order and placing a new purchase online. You cannot return an online order to a Nike retail store. These rules apply only to Nike Canada online purchases, because store return policies vary.

What the three boutiques take back when you do not buy from Nike

Nike Canada states that Nike items bought at another retailer go back to that retailer, so on the Toronto Nike shelf each boutique's own policy decides. For collectors hunting archive pairs, Utopia at 132 Cumberland Street in Yorkville sets a policy where all sales are final. At Utopia, 148 of the 484 Nike items are pre owned, with inventory running from $100 to $3,000 CAD around a $350 median.

The Cumberland Street counter makes up for an error only, replacing, crediting or refunding an incorrect item. For retro releases, parlor23 at 11 Willison Square in Toronto treats all shoe purchases as final sale. At parlor23, 13 pairs carry a compare at price above their tag, including the Nike Dunk Low (W) "Venice" 2022 at $210 (was $350). Footwear remains nonrefundable, including the 2014 Nike Roshe Run LD-1000 "Fragment Obsidian" at $250, down from $600 on 29 October 2026.

Willison Square's shoe rule is why its markdowns are the pairs to buy only in your exact size. The Nike Air Force 1 Low "Supreme White" 2022 is $225, down from $330, and the Nike Dunk Low "College Navy Grey" 2021 is $160. Other merchandise may be exchanged within 7 days of the date received for store credit, unworn with original tags and proof of purchase.

For marked down court pairs, Outlined at 25 The West Mall in Etobicoke runs a 30 day return window with strict conditions. At Outlined, 3 pieces carry a compare at price, such as the Nike Dunk Low "Goldenrod" at $200 (was $250). Its policy limits refunds to fulfillment errors, excludes sale items from refund, and requires the buyer to pay return shipping.

Defective pairs and Nike Canada's warranty rule within two years

Nike Canada handles manufacturing flaws through its warranty policy. If an item develops a material or workmanship flaw within 30 days of purchase, Nike accepts it for a refund. Past 30 days, an item with a flaw within two years of the manufacture date on its tag can go to Nike for inspection.

Nike rejects inspection claims for normal wear, excessive dirt, misuse or alterations. Its warranty page also leaves out items with any alteration and items bought from unauthorised retailers or resellers. How to settle your Nike size before ordering from a boutique
