PLATE No. IV

Twenty stores on Ossington Avenue, with addresses, checked 20 September 2026.

IN STOCK NOW

New Balance, Nike and Tiger of Sweden, on the shelf.

Three more are a short walk off the strip. Nine of the twenty are in within's Toronto directory, where an address publishes only once Google Places confirms the shop is open at it. The Ossington BIA draws the strip from Queen Street West to Dundas Street West, and that is the walk below.

Quick facts

  • Stores: 20 on Ossington Avenue, plus 3 within a short walk
  • Walk: about 10 minutes end to end, 90 minutes to two hours to browse
  • Ranking: 14th of 33 on Time Out's 2022 coolest streets in the world, the only Toronto entry
  • Since December 2024: 4 openings against 3 closures, a net gain of one storefront
  • Hours: most open at 11am or noon, so mornings are for coffee

On 2 October 2026 no shop on Ossington sold through within. The Ossington page on within shows the nearest within shelves, and the walk continues on Queen West.

Ossington is a menswear street first. Denim, boots, sneakers and Toronto made tailoring, with womenswear, designer resale, records and housewares filling in. It is a low rise street of small storefronts, and the owner is behind the counter in most of them.

Start at Queen and work north. Restaurants anchor the block, so most people shop it around a meal.

Start with the menswear

Lost & Found is at 12 Ossington Avenue. This is the address most guides get wrong.

The shop opened at 44 Ossington in 2010 and moved a few doors up to the new building at 12 in 2023. blogTO and Streets of Toronto covered the move.

Its own contact page and its returns address both say 12. An older page on the same site still says 44, and so does the BIA directory. Both are stale, because 44 Ossington Avenue is DUER now, the performance denim brand, open there since June 2023.

Inside it is heritage menswear: raw denim, welted footwear, Norse Projects, Sage de Cret, The Real McCoy's. The sneaker wall runs New Balance and Nike in colourways that rarely reach a mall, so anyone mapping men's sneakers ends up here.

IN STOCK NOW · NEW BALANCE · NIKE

Carhartt WIP took 49 Ossington Avenue on 24 January 2025. It was the brand's first store in Canada and its third standalone in North America, after New York and Los Angeles.

Reigning Champ is across the street at 41, and Tiger of Sweden holds 56. 18 Waits is at the foot of the strip at 990 Queen West, for Toronto designed ready to wear and custom suiting.

Made in Canada

Kotn runs its flagship at 148 Ossington. The Toronto label builds basics from Egyptian cotton bought direct from Nile Delta farms.

Province of Canada opened its second Toronto store at 104 Ossington on 14 December 2024. Everything in it is made in Canada: fleece, tees, home goods, and pieces named for Toronto neighbourhoods.

Monos sells the Vancouver luggage brand at 111 Ossington, its second retail store, open since late 2024. Bellwoods Brewery takes 124 and 126, brewpub and bottle shop.

Womenswear, resale and records

Annie Aime has held 42 Ossington since 2013. Annie Mesenge buys ethically produced designer clothing weighted to Italian and Dutch labels. Start here for jackets and coats.

I Miss You Vintage is at 63 Ossington. Julie Yoo opened her first shop on the street in 2005 and still picks every piece, from 1990s designer bags to last season's runway.

Rotate This is at 186 Ossington, near Dundas. It spent almost twenty five years on Queen West before moving here in February 2016.

PERMISSION at 127 sells activewear. LoversLand at 215 is the bridal and fashion shop at the Dundas end.

The BIA still lists Lost and Found at 44. The shop moved in 2023 and 44 is DUER.

What changed since December 2024

Four openings against three closures, so the strip is one storefront up.

Uncle Studios took 46 on 6 December 2024. Province of Canada took 104 on 14 December 2024. Carhartt WIP took 49 on 24 January 2025.

Small Talk, a jazz bar, opened at 110 on 11 September 2025 in the space Baby Huey left.

Against that: the Dakota Tavern at 249 closed for renovations in late 2024 and confirmed in March 2025 that it will not reopen. Superpoint at 184 served its last pizza on Sunday 24 August 2025. Baby Huey closed in summer 2025.

Two more corrections. Peace Collective left 131 Ossington in June 2021 and now trades at 7 Trinity Street and Union Station. Victoire Boutique lists a shop in Ottawa and Toronto pop ups, with no fixed Ossington address.

Getting there

Older guides get this backwards. Ossington station on Line 2 is up at Bloor Street, well north of the Dundas end, so the subway does not put you on the shopping. Take the 63 Ossington bus south from it.

From the south, the 501 Queen streetcar stops at the foot of the strip and the 505 Dundas at the top. Parking on the side streets is metered and tight, and the City's plan to remove the peak hour restrictions will not start before spring 2028.

Keep walking west at Dundas for two more: Grasshopper Records at 1167 Dundas West, open noon to midnight every day, and Easy Tiger Goods at 1447 Dundas West, closed Mondays.

Common questions

Where is Lost & Found on Ossington?

Lost & Found is at 12 Ossington Avenue, not 44. It moved there from 44 Ossington in 2023, and 44 is DUER now. Directories that still print 44 for Lost & Found are out of date, including the Ossington BIA's listing and one stale page on the shop's own website.

What is the closest subway station to Ossington?

Ossington station on Line 2, at Bloor Street, but it is north of the shopping rather than on it. Take the 63 Ossington bus south from the station. From the south, the 501 Queen streetcar stops at Queen and Ossington and the 505 Dundas serves the top end.

Is the Dakota Tavern reopening?

No, the Dakota Tavern is not reopening. The bar at 249 Ossington closed for renovations in late 2024 after an ownership change, and it was confirmed in March 2025 that it will not reopen. Review sites that still list it as open are stale.

What is Ossington Street known for?

Menswear, first: this guide names 20 stores on Ossington Avenue with addresses, from Queen Street West to Dundas Street West. Denim, boots, sneakers and Toronto made tailoring lead, with womenswear, designer resale, records and housewares filling in. Lost & Found at 12 Ossington Avenue sells raw denim and welted footwear, and Carhartt WIP took 49 Ossington in January 2025 as its first store in Canada.

Is Ossington worth visiting?

Time Out put Ossington 14th of 33 on its 2022 list of the coolest streets in the world, the only Toronto entry. The walk is about 10 minutes end to end and 90 minutes to two hours to browse, with 20 stores on it. Since December 2024 it has taken four openings against three closures, so the strip is one storefront up.

Is there a vintage store near Ossington Strip in Toronto?

Boketto is at 174 Ossington Avenue, near the Dundas end, and deals in archive and vintage. I Miss You Vintage is at 63 Ossington Avenue, where Julie Yoo has picked every piece since 2005. Her stock runs from 1990s designer bags to last season's runway, and Seagrave's at 63-E Ossington Avenue takes luxury consignment.

Every store above is independent or brand owned, and nobody paid to be here. If one has closed or moved, tell us at hello@shopwithin.co.
