SSENSE or Farfetch: where each one wins
They are closer than they look. The difference is who holds the stock.
Where SSENSE is the better pick
- A Canadian address. The parcel never crosses a border, so there is no duty at all. Farfetch puts the duty in its price instead.
- One seller. SSENSE sells its own stock, supplied by the brands. On Farfetch each boutique sets its own price, and pieces from different boutiques come in separate parcels.
Where Farfetch is the better pick
- Range. Over 1,400 brands and boutiques, by its own count, so a piece one shop has sold may still sit at another.
- Returns collected from your door, free. SSENSE emails you a prepaid label to print and send.

Where within fits
within is the live shop window of independent luxury boutiques: what is on the shelf right now, in your city first, bought from the shop itself.
You see each piece on a real shop's shelf, with the shop's name and street, and you buy it from that shop. See every boutique on within and how within works.
within is best for
- A piece from a named independent shop, with its street on the page.
- Picking the piece up at the shop's counter, which all five offer at checkout.
- A Canadian address: the pieces are already in Toronto, so there is no duty.
within is not for
- Free returns on everything: four of the five shops give no refunds, only an exchange, store credit or nothing.
- A US buyer who wants the duty paid at checkout: it is due when the parcel arrives.
- A huge range in one order: five shops' shelves are a fraction of any site above, and each shop is its own checkout.
