Chest, waist and hips

  1. Chest or bust: around the fullest part.
  2. Waist: around the narrowest part.
  3. Hips: around the fullest part.
  4. Keep the tape snug, not tight, and stand as you normally do.

Your foot

  1. Tape a sheet of paper to a hard, flat floor.
  2. Stand on it evenly on both feet.
  3. Have someone mark the tip of your big toe and the back of your heel, with the pen held straight down.
  4. Step off and measure between the two marks. That is your foot length.
  5. Do the same with the other foot and use the longer one.
  6. Type that length in the Shoes tab. If you are between sizes, Nike says to go up.

A ring

  1. Take a ring that fits the finger you want to size.
  2. Print Blue Nile's ring sizer at 100% scale. A credit card, 54 mm tall, should fit inside the outline on the sheet.
  3. Lay the ring on the circles. The right circle just fills the inside of the ring. Its number is the inside diameter in mm.
  4. If you have no ring, wrap a strip of paper or string around the base of the finger and mark where the ends meet. Lay it flat and measure it in mm. That length is close to your European size.
  5. Measure in the evening. Fingers change size a little through the day.
  6. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one. A wide band can feel tight, so you may need a half size up.

Common questions

What size am I in jeans?

Measure your waist where your jeans sit, then find that number on the brand's chart. On Suitsupply's men's chart, 32 inch trousers are an EU 48, a size M. A label is not always your waist, though: on Golden Goose's men's chart a US 32 is for an 84 to 88 cm waist (33.1 to 34.6 in).

How do I measure my chest?

Put a soft tape around the fullest part of your chest. That is how Nike's guide says to measure it, with the waist at its narrowest and the hips at their fullest. Dior also says to keep your arms down. Then type the number above, in cm or inches.

Is a 32 waist a medium?

Often. Dents' belt chart puts a 32 to 34 in waist at M, and Suitsupply's chart pairs 32 inch trousers with an M.

How do I measure my foot?

Stand on a sheet of paper on a hard floor. Have someone mark the back of your heel and the tip of your big toe, then measure between the marks. Do both feet and use the longer one. If you are between sizes, Nike says to go up.

What size shoe is a 27 cm foot?

On Nike's men's chart, a 27 cm foot sits between a US men's 9.5 (26.7 cm) and a US men's 10 (27.1 cm). Nike says to go up between sizes, so take a US men's 10 (US women's 11.5, UK 9, EU 44).

How do I find my ring size at home?

Print Blue Nile's ring sizer at full size and lay a ring that fits on its circles. The circle that just fills the inside of the ring gives its inside diameter in mm. With no ring, wrap a strip of paper round the base of your finger, mark where the ends meet and measure it flat in mm. That is the circumference. Between two sizes, take the larger one.
