- Hugo Boss says Germany, Spain, Denmark and many other countries use the European sizes. France and Italy have their own numbers.
- Shops do not all agree. SSENSE's chart for one brand puts a US 4 at French 36, where Hugo Boss puts it at French 38. This table follows Hugo Boss.

- R means the regular length. Hugo Boss also makes long and stocky cuts.
- Mr Porter's suit guide says a US or UK jacket size is the chest in inches: a 38 inch chest takes a 38.
- Hugo Boss prints XXXL for both a European 56 and a European 58.

What is a UK 10 in US sizes?
A US 6 on Hugo Boss's women's chart. It is also a European 38, a French 40, an Italian 42 and a Japanese 13.
What is an Italian 42 in US sizes?
A US 6 for women on Hugo Boss's chart, which is a size M.
What is a Japanese size 9 in US sizes?
A US 2 on Hugo Boss's women's chart, which is a size XS.
What is a men's European 50 in US sizes?
A 40R in US and UK sizes on Hugo Boss's men's chart, which is a size L. The Italian and French sizes are also 50.
Is a European size the same as a French size?
Not for women. On Hugo Boss's chart a European 38 is a French 40 and an Italian 42.
