The Milan boutiques that still do their own buying
Via Montenapoleone is 350 metres of mono brand glass. The buying that decides a Milan season happens at Biffi, Antonia, Antonioli and five more doors.

Via Montenapoleone runs barely 350 metres, and in November 2024 Cushman & Wakefield ranked it the most expensive retail street on earth at roughly $2,047 per square foot per year, the first European street ever to take the top of that list. New Bond Street took it back in the November 2025 edition. Nothing on the corridor changed in between, because nothing on the corridor is decided there.
A flagship window is not a buy. One house dresses its own glass to its own calendar, and what hangs there was settled in a showroom months earlier. The shops where somebody stood in front of a rack in February, chose, and then had to sell what they chose sit mostly two tram stops off the grid.
Antonia keeps the better half of its buy in a seminary courtyard
Antonia has been running since 1999, when Antonia Giacinti opened it as an accessories shop, and the main room is now inside Palazzo Cagnola at Via Cusani 5. The rails carry Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Jacquemus, Loewe and Saint Laurent, which is to say a good half of it repeats what the Quadrilatero shows you one street away (nobody crosses a city for a Gucci wall). The second store, opened in 2022 in the courtyard of a sixteenth century archbishop's seminary at Portrait Milano, Via Sant'Andrea 10, is the one given over to rising international names, and the sharper of the two doors.
FW26 is on the floor now, The Attico's Where We Are From and Róhe's Pre Fall 26 among it.
Corso Genova is the whole of Biffi at the moment
Biffi has been on Corso Genova 6 since 1959, family run, and its own site still puts tradition and trust before the label list. The buy runs institutional in the true sense: Khaite, Cecilie Bahnsen, Simone Rocha and Erdem on the same floor as Moncler, Stone Island and Barbour. Nobody would call that a razor edit. It is a department store's breadth held inside a boutique's square footage, an older skill.
One warning that no map listing carries. Banner, Biffi's Quadrilatero sister at Via Sant'Andrea 8/A, is marked on biffi.com as temporarily closed for renovation as of August 2026, with no reopening date given. Do not cross town for it.
The queue at Corso Como 10 is not entirely for the clothes
10 Corso Como began in 1990 as a gallery Carla Sozzani opened in a vacant garage; the bookshop, the café and the fashion floor followed a year later, all of it behind one plain door. The buy still holds: Maison Margiela, Sacai, Totême, Jil Sander, JW Anderson, Valentino Garavani. The honest reading in 2026 is that the courtyard, the café and the exhibitions pull more people through the arch than the rails do, and you queue behind them. Viktor&Rolf. Spectrum runs in the galleria from 25 September to 22 November 2026.
Two shops that buy like a person rather than a portfolio
Wait and See sits at Via Santa Marta 14, in the medieval lanes of 5VIE, and Uberta Zambeletti has made it the least searchable good shop in the city. There is no online store any more and no label list, only a wall of customers photographed in what they bought and one line in capitals saying you find them in the shop and nowhere else. Colour first, house label included, and Monday does not open until 15:30.
Imarika has been in Porta Venezia for more than forty years, at Via Giovanni Morelli 1, run by the sisters Benedetta and Maria Bevilacqua. The edit is textile before logo: Comme des Garçons, Daniela Gregis, Pero, ApuntoB, Mira Mikati, Tagliatore, Harris Wharf London. Gregis's hand loomed knits read closer to an atelier than to a shop, and the right customer already owns two Gregis dresses.
Where the dark rails are
Antonioli is 530 square metres inside one of the first silent cinemas in Milan, on Via Pasquale Paoli in Porta Genova, expanded in 2009 and again in 2019. Claudio Antonioli started in 1987 at Piazza Lima and has been on Via Paoli since 2003; the buy now runs past 200 labels, Rick Owens and Comme des Garçons alongside Dilara Findikoglu and Craig Green. It leans dark and avant garde, so if you dress in colour, spend the afternoon at Biffi or Imarika instead.
Slam Jam has been Luca Benini's since 1989, and the Milan shop keeping ordinary hours is at Via Achille Maiocchi 5, beside the Spazio Maiocchi exhibition rooms. The Via Giovanni Lanza 1 door on the Brera edge opens by appointment, Tuesday to Friday, which is worth knowing before you walk over for Sacai, Undercover, Stone Island and Stüssy.
Montenapoleone rents you a name. A rail tells you what somebody risked.

The archive tier, priced accordingly
Cavalli e Nastri keeps four Milan addresses: Via Brera 2, the women's and men's rooms at Via Gian Giacomo Mora 12 and 3, and the showroom at Via Voghera 11 in Tortona. The catalogue runs 1950s to 2000s Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Giorgio Armani, Valentino and Versace, priced like a gallery rather than a bin. Nobody stumbles into a bargain here.
How to actually shop it
Brera does most of the work in one walk: Cavalli e Nastri at Via Brera 2 and Antonia at Via Cusani 5 fall ten minutes apart, with 10 Corso Como a short push north. Porta Venezia pairs Imarika on Via Morelli with Slam Jam on Via Maiocchi. 5VIE and Corso Genova are a separate afternoon, Wait and See then Biffi, Antonioli further out toward Porta Genova. Two districts a day, not four.
Milano Fashion Week runs 22 to 28 September 2026, the week these rooms are fullest, and we have written the dressing side of it separately. Before buying, ask whether the alteration happens in the building or gets sent out, get the charge quoted at the till, and get the return window stated, because a small shop's final sale is final. Phone anything you plan to reserve, since more than one of these rooms keeps no stock list online at all. From late October the nebbia settles in and the cold turns humid, so the coats sell through earlier than the temperature suggests. How the same tiers sort in other cities is here.
Common questions
Where do you shop in Milan beyond Montenapoleone?
The multibrand shops with their own buying sit outside the Quadrilatero: Biffi at Corso Genova 6, Antonioli on Via Pasquale Paoli, Imarika at Via Giovanni Morelli 1 and Wait and See at Via Santa Marta 14. Antonia has one store at Via Cusani 5 and one inside Portrait Milano at Via Sant'Andrea 10, and 10 Corso Como anchors the Porta Nuova end at number 10.
Is 10 Corso Como still worth a visit?
Yes, though it is now as much a destination as a boutique, with a courtyard, café, bookshop and gallery pulling a crowd the fashion floor no longer needs. Carla Sozzani opened the gallery there in 1990, and the rails still carry Maison Margiela, Sacai, Totême and Jil Sander. Viktor&Rolf. Spectrum runs there from 25 September to 22 November 2026.
What does Antonia in Milan sell?
Antonia carries Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Gucci, Jacquemus, Jil Sander, Loewe, Sacai and Saint Laurent, with FW26 on the floor. The Via Cusani 5 store in Palazzo Cagnola holds the established houses, while the Portrait Milano store at Via Sant'Andrea 10, opened in 2022, is given to rising international names and is the sharper buy. Antonia Giacinti founded the business in 1999 as an accessories shop.
Every business above is independent, was verified open as of August 2026, and nobody paid to be here. If one has closed or moved, tell us at hello@shopwithin.co and we will fix it.
within opens October 1, Toronto first, with the cities in this journal to follow. The waiting list is open in every one of them.
