Toronto Game Expo 2026: what to wear, and what it costs
The Toronto Game Expo 2026 runs 7 and 8 November at Exhibition Place, tickets from $30, and the outfit to wear is built around the bag you carry.
The Toronto Game Expo is on 7 and 8 November 2026 in the Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place. Saturday runs 10 am to 7 pm, Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. Patricia Summersett, the voice of Princess Zelda, is there both days for autographs, photo ops and panels.
IN STOCK NOW
One Piece, Vans and Canada Goose, on the shelf.
Most of the weekend happens at a table, though. At 11 am, when general admission walks in, you will be bent over a binder of cards, cash in one hand and a boxed cartridge under the other arm.
So I read the expo as a market before it is a stage, and I would dress for the bag, not the costume. The organiser's questions page, read 16 October 2026, says most people stay 4 to 6 hours, and whatever you buy rides on your body until you leave. Cosplayers will disagree, and on Saturday, the day of Cosplay Stars, they are right.

For the card table, the bag comes first
Nintendo began in Kyoto in 1889, when Fusajiro Yamauchi started making and selling hanafuda, Japanese playing cards. So the card table is older than the console. At Outlined, 25 The West Mall, a One Piece Emperors in the New World booster box costs $200 and a Dragon Ball Super Vermilion Bloodline box $350.

Bandai's One Piece booster pack The Dominance of God lands on 20 November, after the show. Whatever box you buy that weekend rides with you until you leave, which is why I pick the bag before the outfit. Porter is the one I would carry: Kichizo Yoshida founded Yoshida & Co. in 1935, and the company launched Porter in Tokyo in 1962.
At Due West, 431 Queen St W, $645 buys the Porter Force 2Way Waist Bag, 210 denier nylon 6 sewn with high tenacity industrial thread and made in Japan. That is a lot for a bag, and it is still the one I would want. The Porter shelf starts at $395, the price of the Porter Unit Shoulder Bag in black.
For the free play floor, shoes you already broke in
More than 600 tables, a free play arcade and the console and retro gaming areas share over 200,000 square feet of the Better Living Centre. Across 4 to 6 hours on that floor, a broken in sneaker beats a new one, so the best pair is the one you already own.
Nintendo began selling Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, and Mario is still the plainest way to say what you play.
The 2018 Vans Sk8-Hi Nintendo Mario & Luigi is at parlor23, 11 Willison Square, in a US men's 13 for $300. I love them, and I would still break them in at home before 7 November.
If you want your card game on your feet, Utopia, 132 Cumberland Street in Yorkville, has the Puma Suede One Piece Red-Haired Shanks for $150. Above the shoes, one piece is enough. A BATHING APE was born in Harajuku and has been going since 1993, and its Bape x Kid Cudi Baby Milo hoodie in grey sells there for $300.

For the walk in from Exhibition GO, a coat that packs away
Toronto's November normals are a mean daily high of 8.1°C and a low of 2.3°C, by Environment and Climate Change Canada's 1991 to 2020 figures. So you arrive in a coat, and from then on the coat is one more thing to carry.
Canada Goose has made its outerwear in Canada since 1957, and its women's Cypress Hooded jacket in silverbirch packs into its own interior left pocket. Packed, it rides on a backpack's straps by its loops.
Its TEI Level 1 rating, 5°C to minus 5°C, is meant for days colder than November's mean high. At $795, I would buy it for the winter and let the expo be its first day out.
Gramicci started in a garage in Ventura, California, in 1982, and $99 buys its Ultra-Light Packable Jacket in purple: water repellent nylon ripstop with a quarter zip. I would wear it over a hoodie for the walk from Exhibition GO, then pack it away inside (and keep the $4.50 the coat check charges).
For a day with children, the $10 pass
Children under 4 are free, and children 4 to 10 need a Kids Weekend Pass, $10 for both days. There is a dedicated Kids Zone, and I would start there and at the free play arcade before taking anyone small to the tables.
Small hands lose mitts between the train and the hall. Canada Goose's kids' Arctic Down Mitts are $99, white goose down in Arctic Tech fabric with a clip that keeps the pair together. The clip is the reason to buy them.
With a child along, the bag carries more than your haul, so go bigger. Y-3, which adidas and Yohji Yamamoto founded in 2002, makes the Y-3 Small Backpack for $395, with 35 litres and a rain cover flap.
The outfit that wins the expo is the one built around what you carry home.
Getting there, and what to check before you buy
GO Transit and the TTC both stop on the grounds, and Exhibition GO's North Side Station Entrance has been open since 25 October 2024. If you cycle, the grounds have 732 bike racks.
There is no free parking: the paid lots have 5,400 spaces, 1,300 of them underground, at $18 a day or $15 after 6 pm. The rates can change, so check them before you drive.
All exhibitors take cash and many take cards, and there are ATMs on site, but I would arrive with cash already in a front pocket. Props for cosplay go through the prop check at the Information Booth, near the entrance. Cosplay Stars runs on Saturday in Novice, Journeyman and Master categories, and contestants register online before the event.
Every piece in this note can be picked up at the counter, and Due West is one of 24 Queen West shops in our directory. It ships to the US for $45, parlor23 for $20, and Utopia ships worldwide, free to Canada and the US over $300. Outlined, with the cards, lists Canada only.
The weekend pass against a single day
A single day is from $30 and the weekend pass from $50, and prices go up on 6 November. The weekend pass comes with a collectible lanyard and a badge to come back in; everyone else gets a hand stamp. VIP, from $55, gets you in at 10 am, ahead of general admission at 11.
If you are bringing games to sell or trade, as many people do, I would buy the weekend pass: offer them on Saturday and decide on Sunday. That is how the founders began. Chris Hodgson and Darby Queiser started the Barrie Game Exchange, a swap meet, in 2015, founded the expo in 2022 and opened the first show in March 2023.
It runs twice a year now, and the spring show, on 1 and 2 May 2027, is where the November bag goes next.
Common questions
How long should I plan to spend at the event?
Plan on 4 to 6 hours, the organiser's own figure for most visitors. Saturday runs to 7 pm and Sunday closes at 4 pm, so Saturday leaves more room. Wear shoes for the long end.
Is there coat check?
Yes, coat check is $4.50 per item. A jacket that packs into its own pocket, like the Canada Goose Cypress Hooded, rides on your bag instead.
Do exhibitors accept cash or card?
All exhibitors accept cash, and many also accept credit or debit cards. There are ATMs on site, and you can buy a ticket on the day with cash.
