How to spot fake Supreme, and why the seller comes first
How to spot fake Supreme starts with the seller, since Supreme's own pages list 19 stores and its own online shop, and name no other seller.

Spotting fake Supreme starts with the seller: Supreme lists 19 stores and its own online shop, and names no other seller. In December 2018, Samsung China announced a Supreme partnership at a press conference. Supreme replied that it was "not working with Samsung" and that the claims were "blatantly false and propagated by a counterfeit organization".

Supreme, on the shelf.
A Samsung digital marketing manager explained on Weibo: "We are partnering with Supreme Italia, not Supreme U.S." The Drum called Supreme Italia a legal business in Italy that used a loophole in Italian law. The name on the label was right, and the company behind it was someone else.
So before you study the logo, ask who is selling it. The stitching comes second.
Regulars trust their eye. A failed tell is a fine reason to walk away. A passed one proves less than the seller and the price do, because Highsnobiety's guide says the people making fakes "are getting better and better".
Quick facts
- Supreme's own stores: 19, from 190 Bowery in New York to 2/3 Peter Street in London and Torstraße 74 in Berlin, and none in Canada.
- Supreme's own prices: hooded sweatshirts US$168 to US$268 and tees US$44 to US$58 on its US shop, with none of its 58 products marked down.
- On within: 276 Supreme pieces at two Toronto resale shops, $30 to $2,000 CAD, median $300, with every count and price in this note read 9 October 2026.
- The rate: 1.4271 Canadian dollars to the US dollar (Bank of Canada, same day), so US$168 is about CAD $240.
- Condition: 39 graded by one of the two shops (28 pre owned, 7 lightly used, 4 worn once), 39 listed Brand New, 198 with no condition stated.
For the box logo hoodie, check the price first
Supreme opened on Lafayette Street in downtown Manhattan in April 1994. Highsnobiety's guide of 23 January 2024 calls the box logo hoodie "one of the most counterfeited items out there".
Start with the price. A box logo hoodie sold as new for under US$168, the least Supreme's US shop asked for any hooded sweatshirt, is a question for the seller. At one of the two resale shops, box logo hoodies, crewnecks and sweatshirts ask $250 to $1,500, median $400, all under that shop's own guarantee.

On Supreme hoodies on the shelf, a pre owned black FW16 Box Logo Hooded Sweatshirt in size L sits right at that median. The Comme des Garçons SHIRT version is $500, and the navy MM6 Maison Margiela zip up tops the range. Supreme sells in "limited quantities", its FAQ says, and why Supreme is so expensive covers the rest of the gap.
Highsnobiety's first check is a ruler under the letters: on many fakes, every letter lines up except the final "e", which floats a few millimetres high. Its second is the red stitching behind the white letters, a tight diamond or criss cross on a real one and horizontal or vertical lines on a fake. The guide adds that real pre 2007 and tonal hoodies can lack the oval inside the "p", so one odd detail is not a verdict.
For the tee and the cap, count the small things
Hold a tee to the light. Highsnobiety's check is a faint, all caps SUPREME watermark under the wash instructions, and shirts from 2005 to 2007 can say "SUP" and the year instead.
Supreme's own tees cost US$44 to US$58, about CAD $63 to $83. Its FAQ says T-shirts cannot be returned or exchanged. One of the two shops lists 87 Supreme tops from $100 to $1,500, median $300, with the white Takashi Murakami COVID-19 Relief Box Logo Tee at $450.

For a cap, Highsnobiety counts six curved stitch lines on the brim of a real one, and fewer on most fakes. Supreme's own World Famous Box Logo New Era is US$58. On resale, four box logo New Era caps ask $150 each, among them a black velour one and a brown one with a mesh back.
The label that said Supreme and was not
Highsnobiety's guide says the Samsung deal "got scrapped", and that Supreme Italia opened physical stores, one of them in Shanghai. In 2020, Supreme secured its trademark in China, and the copycat closed its stores after that win, Highsnobiety reported on 18 March 2024.
Supreme's own Shanghai store, at 291 Fumin Road, was announced on 15 March 2024, and it is not in the copycat's old storefront. Milan has a real one too, at Corso Garibaldi 20.
A website can borrow a name the same way. The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre warns that counterfeiters use sites with "the same look and feel as a legitimate manufacturer" to sell at big discounts. Supreme's own US shop had nothing marked down.
The name on the label can be right and the company behind it someone else.

For the resale buyer, the guarantee is the shop's
Supreme's web terms make every buyer certify an order is "for personal use only and not for resale". So anything bought elsewhere is resale, sold on that seller's word, and the word is worth reading.
On its product pages, Utopia says its "team of expert authenticators with 5+ years of experience in this industry ensure that everything bought and sold is 100% authentic". Its refund policy adds that pre owned pieces come with photos showing any flaws. Every sale is final.
Outlined writes "100% Authentic sold by Outlined" on its Supreme listings, and its refund policy gives 30 days, with refunds only for fulfilment errors.
Neither shop is a Supreme store. Each promise is the shop's own. Where a piece has a grade, read it and the photos before the price; what pre owned means explains the pre owned label.
Before you pay, in this order
Ask where it was bought: one of Supreme's own stores, its online shop, or neither. If neither, ask who checked it. Get the guarantee and the return policy in writing.
Then set the price against Supreme's own and against Supreme prices by category. The Anti-Fraud Centre's rule is short: "if the asking price of a product is too good to be true, it is."
Verify the seller's address, phone number and email, and pick up and pay in person where you can, as the centre advises. Pay with something that has fraud protection, like a credit card, since Highsnobiety warns a bank transfer, Zelle or Venmo won't help if the piece turns out fake. (Supreme mails 5 box logo stickers to anyone who sends US$5 in cash and a stamped envelope with their own address, so a sticker in the bag proves nothing.)
Supreme's US online shop takes orders from the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico, and Supreme in Canada covers the shipping. In Toronto, Utopia's counter at 132 Cumberland Street is open 12:00 to 20:00 every day, and local pickups are usually ready within 4 hours. International orders ship from Canada and arrive in 7 to 10 business days, with duties paid by the buyer.
Ask who is selling before any resale buy, and for other labels, read how to spot fake Bape and how to spot fake Chrome Hearts.
Common questions
How can I tell if my Supreme is real?
Check the seller first, then the price, then the stitching. Supreme's own pages name only its 19 stores and its own online shop, so anything else is resale, sold on the seller's word. Set the price against Supreme prices by category, and treat Highsnobiety's checks as a reason to walk away, not a reason to pay.
How to know if a Supreme hoodie is real?
Ask where it came from, then run two of Highsnobiety's checks: the ruler under the letters and the stitching behind them. A final "e" that floats high, or red stitching in horizontal or vertical lines instead of a tight diamond, is a reason to stop. One resale shop asks $250 to $1,500 for box logo hoodies, crewnecks and sweatshirts, under its own guarantee; a hoodie sold new below Supreme's own price needs an explanation.
Is Supreme a real company?
Yes, Supreme is Chapter 4 Corp., doing business as Supreme, which opened on Lafayette Street in April 1994 and lists 19 stores. It has belonged to EssilorLuxottica since 2 October 2024, bought from VF Corporation for US$1.5 billion in cash. Supreme Italia was a different label, the copycat from the Samsung story.
