Gorpcore
Trail runners, technical shells, cargo trousers, and outdoor performance wear.
Gorpcore is outdoor gear worn as everyday clothes: trail shoes, waterproof shells, down jackets and loose climbing pants. The name comes from gorp, a name for trail mix, and the writer Jason Chen first used it in The Cut, the fashion site of New York magazine, in twenty seventeen.
Gramicci began in a garage in Ventura, California, in nineteen eighty two, when the climber Mike Graham made climbing shorts with a diamond shaped gusset in the crotch and a webbing belt you can do up with one hand. Arc'teryx started in North Vancouver in nineteen eighty nine making climbing gear and is known for waterproof Gore Tex shells. Salomon began in Annecy, France, in nineteen forty seven making ski edges, and White Mountaineering, founded in Tokyo by Yosuke Aizawa in two thousand six, mixes outdoor performance with fashion.
Due West in Toronto brings Gramicci pants and shorts and Descente down jackets. Utopia in Toronto brings The North Face, Salomon and Arc'teryx, and parlor23 brings Hoka and Salomon trail shoes. WDLT117 in Toronto brings White Mountaineering shorts.
