Collectors look for pieces from past seasons that are no longer made. Louis Vuitton began in Paris in the eighteen fifties as a trunk maker, and its monogram canvas dates from the eighteen nineties. Balenciaga is known for volume, from Cristóbal Balenciaga's balloon skirts to its oversized hoodies today. Miuccia Prada made a plain black nylon backpack a luxury piece in the eighties.
