Cold weather for men
Parkas, puffers, wool coats, shearling, heavy knits, scarves and lined boots.
Cold weather dressing means heavy wool overcoats, down puffers, shearling and thick knits that keep out freezing wind. Tailored wool coats sit beside big down jackets, and both trap warmth against the cold. Navy, black and green lead the colours.
Moncler began in a mountain village near Grenoble, making padded sleeping bags, tents and capes, and made its first down jackets for its own workers. Its quilted jackets went with the Italian expedition that first climbed the world's second highest mountain. Canada Goose, which Sam Tick started as Metro Sportswear and which is based in Toronto, makes parkas that researchers in the United States Antarctic Program have worn. Mackage, founded in Montreal, began with leather jackets and grew into wool coats and parkas.
Heavy outerwear leads each outfit, with scarves, beanies and hoodies around it. Due West in Toronto brings Canada Goose down parkas, and Utopia brings Moncler down jackets, Chrome Hearts cashmere beanies and Supreme puffer jackets, many of them pre owned. WDLT117 and Outlined, also in Toronto, add wool coats, scarves and beanies.
