About Canada Goose

Sam Tick founded Metro Sportswear in Toronto in 1957, making wool vests, raincoats and snowmobile suits. His son in law, David Reiss, joined in the 1970s and brought in a machine that filled jackets with down. Reiss started the Snow Goose label, and the company took the Canada Goose name in 2000. Its Expedition parka was made for scientists at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, and it became known as Big Red. In May 2024 the label named Haider Ackermann its first creative director. Ackermann has made capsule collections under the old Snow Goose name. He shaped the Fall 2026 collection, which Canada Goose presented in August 2026.
