Before that, Adi and his older brother Rudolf ran a shoe factory together from 1924. In 1936 Adi persuaded the American sprinter Jesse Owens to wear his handmade spikes at the Berlin Olympics. The brothers later split, and Rudolf's firm became Puma. The Samba came out in 1950 as a football boot for icy and snowy pitches. The Trefoil logo followed in 1972, the year of the Munich Olympics. The Yeezy line with Kanye West ran from 2015 until Adidas ended it in October 2022.
