Patou for women

Jean Patou founded his label in Paris in 1914. The First World War stopped it, and he relaunched in 1919 after coming back from the front. He sold dresses without corsets, shorter skirts and a sports line to wear in town. He put his initials, JP, on jersey swimwear. For the tennis champion Suzanne Lenglen he designed sleeveless, knee length tennis wear. His perfume Joy came out during the Great Depression. After his death in 1936, the label's designers included Marc Bohan, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Lacroix. LVMH bought the label in 2018 and shortened the name to Patou. In February 2026 Patou and its artistic director, Guillaume Henry, parted ways after seven years.
