About Ksubi
Ksubi started in 1999 on Sydney's Northern Beaches, when friends wanted jeans that fit better than what was on sale. Its founders included Dan Single, George Gorrow and Gareth Moody. The three made their own clothes while playing in a band. The label was first called Tsubi. In 2001 it let live rats loose on its runway at Australian Fashion Week, and the show made headlines. A trademark dispute with the US shoe label Tsubo led to the name Ksubi in 2006. It is known for distressed denim and its box cross logo. The founders first roughed up denim in their backyard, with tools such as sandpaper. Pip Edwards, who first worked in fashion at Ksubi, came back as creative director in September 2024.
