Louis Vuitton for men
Louis Vuitton opened his own trunk making workshop in Paris in 1854. He had trained there under the trunk maker Monsieur Maréchal. In 1858 he introduced flat top trunks in Trianon canvas, when rivals made rounded tops. The Damier check canvas followed in 1888. His son Georges Vuitton introduced the Monogram canvas in 1896, with the LV initials, quatrefoils and flowers. In 1987 Louis Vuitton merged with Moët Hennessy to form LVMH. Nicolas Ghesquière took over the women's collections in 2013. Pharrell Williams was named men's creative director in February 2023. He showed his Spring 2027 men's collection in Paris in June 2026.
