Fear of God Essentials launched in March 2018. It is the more accessible sister line of Fear of God, Jerry Lorenzo's Los Angeles label. Lorenzo said he wanted an honest collection of the essentials a wardrobe needs. He said its shapes should work together like Lego or Tetris. The first range had relaxed hoodies, tees, dropped crotch sweatpants and shorts, coach jackets and overcoats, all in neutral tones. The fits run oversized, and many pieces carry a tonal logo on the front and a rubberised logo patch on the back. In September 2025 Fear of God released Major League Baseball team apparel in Essentials shapes. The first pieces covered teams including the Dodgers, Yankees and Cubs.
