About Kith
Kith grew out of one sneaker release that sold out in a day. In May 2007 Ronnie Fieg released three colourways of the Asics Gel Lyte III, 252 pairs each. He and his partner Sam Ben-Avraham then put HK$2,810,568 into the first two Kith shops, in Manhattan and Brooklyn, which opened in 2011.
Fieg grew up in Queens and started at 13 as a stock boy at David Z, a New York shoe store, where he rose to chief buyer. The name comes from the old phrase kith and kin, meaning friends and family.
Kith makes its own clothes, accessories and shoes for men, women and children. It is known for collaborations with Coca-Cola, Nike, BMW, the NFL, Disney, Versace and Giorgio Armani.
Kith's shoe chart runs US men's 6 to 12 and US women's 5 to 12, with UK, EU and JP sizes beside them. Every Ronnie Fieg release comes in unisex sizing, so a women's 8 is a men's 6.5 on that chart. The charts are on the Kith size page.
