About Carbone
Argentine designer Matías Carbone started Carbone in Buenos Aires in 2021, during the pandemic, selling from his living room. Before that he worked for Argentine labels including Jazmín Chebar and AY Not Dead. The label mixes classic tailoring with embroidery and hand made crochet knits. It works with the lace makers of El Cercado. Wool for a sweater in its first season was dyed in Amaicha del Valle with plants from an artisan's garden. Its studio is in a period building in Recoleta, Buenos Aires. In December 2024 Matías Carbone won the menswear designer award at the Martín Fierro de la Moda. In 2025 the label sold through a showroom in Paris, and South Korea and Japan were its strongest markets.
