Eric Emanuel began making his mesh basketball shorts in New York's Garment District in 2016. He grew up in Syracuse, New York, and studied marketing at FIT. He started out selling vintage jerseys reworked with python details. Two years in, he began making cut and sew pieces of his own. The first was a Chicago Bulls short in sand, salmon and navy. He has said that if he kept a moodboard, Allen Iverson would be on it. As a kid, on day trips to New York, he went to the Bape store on Greene Street in SoHo. In April 2021 he opened his first store in that same space. It reopened in March 2025 after a renovation, with new outerwear and knitwear upstairs. He has made collaborations with adidas, Reebok and Converse.
