It began in 1896 in Pescia, founded by Guido Guidi, Giovanni Rosellini and Gino Ulivo as the Conceria Guidi Rosellini. In 2020 Hypebeast found Ruggero Guidi, a descendant of Guido, running it. The family still uses its own vegetable tanning, a method it has refined for more than 100 years.
The 788Z is made in Italy from horse full grain leather, on a Goodyear welt with a stacked leather heel. On the PL2 the leather is horse reverse leather, also on a Goodyear welt. Men's pairs run EU 40 to 47 in half sizes, and the rest is on the Guidi size page.
On Guidi's own site the 788Z costs 1,365 euros and the PL2 costs 1,455 euros. Dry a wet pair at room temperature and never keep it in a plastic bag, Guidi says. A used pair comes with an insole already shaped to the last owner's foot, so these are boots to buy new.
On 13 October 2026 its boots ran from €436 to €1,701, in EU 35.5 to 45, and some pairs were marked down from the shop's own price. Flats, loafers and mules started at €481, leather backpacks at €831 and shoulder bags at €1,216.
