Davide Marello founded Davi, also known as Davi Paris, in Paris in 2018. He was born in Asti, in Piedmont, Italy, and studied at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. He spent four years at Giorgio Armani and nine at Gucci, under Frida Giannini and then Alessandro Michele. In 2015 he became creative director of the Italian tailoring label Boglioli. At Davi the prints are painted by hand on canvas, then digitized and printed onto the clothes. Most are florals. His references include French impressionism, baroque textiles and Italian surrealist artists. The clothes are fluid menswear: loose printed shirts, wide trousers, belted wool coats and knitwear.
