Bearbrick in New Zealand
You can buy Bearbrick in New Zealand from Utopia in Toronto: in stock on 2 November 2026, from NZ$254, shipped to New Zealand.
Bearbrick is a collectible toy bear made by Medicom Toy, a Japanese company founded in 1996. The first figure came out on 27 May 2001, as a free gift at the World Character Convention in Tokyo. The name comes from bear and from Kubrick, an earlier Medicom figure it is based on. The bear has a simple blocky body with a pot belly, built from nine parts. Its designs are printed on, so each figure can carry different artwork. Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood and H. R. Giger have all designed figures. The standard 100% stands 7 cm tall, and sizes run up to the 400% at 28 cm and the 1000% at 70 cm. Most are sold in blind boxes, so the design stays hidden until the box is opened.
