About Fear of God

Interview and Complex both date Fear of God to 2013, when Jerry Lorenzo started it. Before the label he handled corporate sponsorships for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and from 2008 he threw parties called JL Nights. His father is Jerry Manuel, a major league player who became a coach.
The first piece Lorenzo designed was a short sleeve hoodie with side zips. In 2017 his team worked out of his home in Glendale, California, with a showroom in downtown Los Angeles.
The California slip on is made in Italy from a dense foam the label calls Extrabounce. Its 101 is a take on the American deck sneaker, made in Italy in suede, and Fear of God has also made a men's collection with Ermenegildo Zegna.
