Seletti began in 1964 in Cicognara, part of Viadana in the Italian province of Mantua. Romano Seletti started it as an importer, with trade ties in China, Thailand and India. He brought in tin cups, plastic tablecloths and straw coasters that sold in street markets in Rome, Naples and Turin. His son Stefano joined at 17. The Estetico Quotidiano line was the first that let him move the company away from large retail chains. Seletti's Toiletpaper Home line is made with Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, who created Toiletpaper magazine. Its designs have included the Monkey lamp by Marcantonio and the Hybrid cups and plates by Ctrlzak. Stefano Seletti is now its artistic director.
