Kijima Takayuki is a hat label that grew from a workshop Takayuki Kijima opened in Daikanyama, Tokyo, in 1995. From 1990 to 1994 he trained under the milliner Akio Hirata. There he worked on hats for Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons. He opened his own shop in 1999 under an earlier label, coeur. In 2013 he renamed it after himself and started men's and women's lines. Craftsmen in the workshop make each hat by hand, with methods meant to keep it soft and easy to wear. In 2017 he started HIGH LINE, a fall and winter line of rare materials and traditional couture hat making. He has made hats with Undercover, Toga, Facetasm and Takahiromiyashita The Soloist.
