Men's Arc'teryx
Arc'teryx began in North Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1989. That year climber Dave Lane started Rock Solid to make climbing harnesses and chalk bags. The company took the name Arc'teryx in 1991. The name and the logo come from Archaeopteryx, the fossil that links dinosaurs and birds. In 1993 Arc'teryx launched the Bora backpack, built with the same heat laminate method as its Vapor climbing gear. Its Alpha SV, a Gore-Tex shell jacket, came out in 1998. Veilance, its formal streetwear line, started in 2009. In January 2025 Arc'teryx named Ben Stubbington, formerly of Lululemon and Theory, creative director of Veilance.
