Women's Bottega Veneta
Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro founded Bottega Veneta in 1966 in Vicenza, Italy. The name is Italian for Venetian boutique. The label is known for intrecciato, a woven leather. Strips of leather are threaded through slits in another piece of leather, which makes a strong, flexible material. Its tagline, "When your own initials are enough," ran in a 1978 ad in Andy Warhol's Interview magazine. Gucci bought the label in 2001. In 2013 its workshop moved from Vicenza to an 18th century villa near Montebello Vicentino. Louise Trotter is creative director, and her first collection for the label showed in Milan in September 2025.
