Charles Jeffrey started LOVERBOY in 2014 as a monthly queer club night at Vogue Fabrics in Dalston, London. He ran it to help pay for his MA at Central Saint Martins, and the nights grew into a label with the same name. The first presentation came in June 2015, on Fashion East's MAN platform. Jeffrey was born in Scotland in 1990, and his punk, gender fluid designs draw on Scottish tradition and London club life. The label is known for its knits and its own LOVERBOY tartans. Jeffrey won the menswear emerging talent award at the 2017 British Fashion Awards. In June 2026 the label presented its Spring 2027 collection, Aeolian Afternoon, online.
